Although a majority of my work is Lifestyle, I am often found in a darkened studio fiddling around with mirrors and reflective card. Much of my training as an assistant was still life based. I spent 3 years as a studio assistant for a couple of still life advertising photographers in Alfred place near Goodge street, W1. It taught me allot. So when I am now asked to work on food shoots I love it. The attention to detail is just the same. Using the light in some ways more critical. I tend to use the reflective surfaces to bounce the light around and paint in the areas that need it. This way I can create the mood and show the food off to its best.
